The Challenge

In the bidding process for Montreal to host some games at the FIFA World Cup 2026, the city wanted to evaluate the financial and technical feasibility of the training venues and the FIFA Fan Fest Festival.

Our contribution

Assignment 1: Financial and technical studies of all training venues and of the FIFA Fan Fest

LBB evaluated the technical feasibility of the training venues, the transportation, and the FIFA Fan Fest. Collaborating with managers and owners from different sites including the boroughs of Montreal, the CF Montreal, Jean-Drapeau Park, sports complex Claude-Robillard and the City of Montreal, LBB’s team (Benoit Girardin, Richard Legendre, and Étienne Taillefer (architect)) developed the block plans of the training sites and temporary installations and produced a financial evaluation for the operations, investment and equipment required for each site. The work produced by LBB’s team allowed the City of Montreal to make an informed decision regarding the budget and the bidding of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
